Good Friday

I woke up this morning so very tired.  I cannot figure out why, except for maybe I am just catching up from my bad nights sleep with my cold.  Every morning I have an audience while I shower,  it's what happens when you have animals.  Keeley and Smokey both think they need to be in the bathroom while I shower, which is fine because most of the time they just lie in my closet and wait for their Mama to finish getting ready for work so they can eat (Smokey) and be let outside (Keeley).  This morning just Keeley joined me.  If Smokey does not join me, I can normally find a paw under the door waiting for me to let him in.  I took photos so you guys could get a good laugh at it.  I think it's hilarious personally.

 Ma, let me in!!

The moment I touch his paw, he pulls it out from under the door and waits for me to open the door.  Hilarious!  I swear he is part cat and part dog!

Last nights dinner was delivery pizza from a Saint Louis based place.  I am not going to name their name because I did not have a pleasant experience with them, in fact this is the second time in 2 weeks they have messed my order up.  I did not complain last Friday because it wasn't that big of a deal, they just forgot to cut my pizza.  I ordered a personal size pizza for myself so, it wasn't hard to eat.  But last night order, I was not a happy camper.  I ordered a large pizza that came with an order of "cheesy bites", "toasted ravs" and "cinnamon sticks", a medium pizza, and a side salad.  {Note, this was not all consumed last night and we had a friend over too}.  We received our delivery and missing was the "cheesy bites", "toasted ravs" and "cinnamon sticks".  Seriously!?!  Normally, I would have let it go if one thing was missing, but all three of those things were missing.  So a phone call went in.  First a girl answers, and she says, "It's in the pizza box".  Nope sure isn't, I'm looking in the box.  Then she says, "Are you sure?".  OK, really??  Yes I am sure!  So she says hang on.  Passes the phone to a manager.  Of course he asks how he can help me, so I have to explain again (I hate that).  He says the same thing as the girl, "It's in the pizza box".  OMG!  Nope it sure isn't.  He says, "Are you sure?"  (About to explode here.....)  Yes I am sure, I am looking in the pizza box at this moment.  I then hear silence on his end.  I say, "I'm not lying here, I just want what I ordered".  He says, "Oh I believe you"  (Uh, no you don't.....)  He then tells me that he will send out the missing things right away.  I may be a cheap person who likes to save a buck here or there, but I am not going to scam some restaurant out of money and lie.  I just want what I order and pay for.   Needless to say, I won't be ordered there for a long time now.  Sad, but true!

On a positive note,
Easter weekend is right around the
corner and I am ready for it!

Won't my cold just go away!?!

As you all know, I have been battling this cold for 2 weeks now and it still will not go away.  Monday morning I woke up to snow everywhere and took a snow day at home.  I did work from home for 4 hours which was nice, but I also was starting to develop a sinus infection and didn't realize it until I said something to Andy.

The teeth on the right side of my face were hurting.  I wasn't grinding them, but I was continually pressing the top and bottom row together and get some relief   Why I thought that was a good idea, is beyond me.  I said something to Andy as we walking into the gym and he said his teeth we're bothering him too and said it could be sinuses.  LIGHT BULB!  {No seriously, I think a light bulb went off when he said that :) }

We went to bed that night and I was hoping that the next morning (Tuesday), that I would be feeling a little bit better.  Wrong!  I felt like someone had punched me on my right side of my face and my teeth we're really starting to bother me even more.

I saw my favorite doctor in the whole wide world, told her my symptoms and ding ding ding, a prescription was sent to Target pharmacy!  :)

Tuesday night was the first night of the meds and I am starting to get a little bit of relief.  My face doesn't hurt as much as it did the day before, but my teeth are still hurting a bit.  By the time I went home Wednesday from work, my teeth we're hurting once again.  Why I never thought to take some ibuprofen for the pain, is beyond me, because I even have a little of bottle of it in my desk drawer.  Once it kicked in, I felt better.  I never in my life was tired of talking than I was on Wednesday.  I talked on the phone and in person all day long, recruiting at it's finest.  :)

Here's hoping Easter will be sickness free!

WIAW #16

I know that I haven't written as much on my blog lately.  I have had a lot of writer's block and just still haven't been feeling well.  Plus, I've been super busy at work lately and with a snow day mixed in on Monday it's been quite crazy around here lately.  So here is what the past couple days have been like and my What I Ate Wednesday record.

The weather forecast for Sunday called for snow, but if you live in Missouri like me, you come to realize that yes they call for snow but it never amounts to what they call for.  We are normally told 6 inches and we receive a half an inch (I'm not exaggerating).  This time they were leery on calling out amounts, when they do that.  You know it's serious!  The first initial numbers we're in the 2-4 inch range.  Saturday came and the amounts were getting higher and higher.  When we went to bed, they were calling for 8-10 inches starting around midnight.  I woke up Sunday morning and found no snow and everyone on facebook began to doubt the weather forecast.  Around 9am, the snow came and it didn't stop until 10pm that night.  Thundersnow in fact came and when you hear thunder while it snows, you know it's going TO SNOW!!   We ended with a total of around 14+" inches!  It was amazing how much snow fell!  It also has been a really long time since Saint Louis has received that much snow, especially in a 24 hour time period!

We decided to put Keeley's hoodie on her to keep her warm.

Thanks as always to Jenn for such a great link up!

So on Sunday, I decided to cook and bake.  I made a cinnamon roll cake for Andy for Breakfast.  I was a good girl and decided on a bowl of cherrios for breakfast.  In fact, I was quite proud of myself for resisting the cake for breakfast.  I am a food addict and for me to not eat something so sinfully bad for you is amazing!

Dinner was started in the crockpot around 10am.  Ranch Chicken Tacos.  You can find the recipe here.

I topped my taco's with sharp cheddar cheese, lettuce and guacamole!

I also decided I needed to bake something else.  Since I was going into healthy mode, I decided on some type of a muffin to bake and take to work with me.  I went with an apple oatmeal muffin.  It came out good, not my favorite, but nothing I can't handle.  :)   I replaced the white flour it called for, for wheat flour and I didn't have the plain yogurt it called for, so I used 4 oz. of apple sauce and 4 oz. of plain greek yogurt.

There was lot's to puppy and kitty cuddles that day.

Keeley "helping" me sew.

Aww, Andy get's puppy and kitty cuddles!

Smokey has found the heating vents this winter.

Keeley slept with me like this most of the night.  So adorable!

5 for Five #13

Good Morning!

We're trying to dig out from all of the snow we received in a 24 hour period, 14+ inches to be exact.  It is absolutely crazy that we received that much snow!!  More on that tomorrow.

So, let's get right to it, time to link up for my 5 for Five!
Thanks to Jenn and Jessica for this fabulous link up as always!!

Here's how I did last week at my goals:
{Green=goal reached, Red=goal not reached}

March 18-22

  1. Vacuum the house
  2. Finish the weekend laundry
  3. Get in one workout this week
  4. Keep working on my quilt
  5. Celebrate my 29th Birthday on Tuesday and have a great time!
5/5, YAY!!!

  • With working on my quilt, I gave myself credit but didn't really work on my quilt.  Here's my explanation   I decided to work on this stocking that I had purchased a couple years ago.  It was easier to work on in front of the tv instead of my big sewing machine.  I also think I am scared to scratch my new kitchen table up with the sewing machine.  So I am giving myself a green for the sewing because sewing really did happen!  :)
  • The working out, it happened, but not what you think.  Im going to count shoveling the driveway as my workout!  ;)  It totally counts.  We have about a foot of snow at 3pm on Sunday.
March 25-29

  1. Workout two times this week (this will happen because the new gym opens on the 25th Monday!)
  2. Get lists and grocery supply lists done and completed this week for Easter
  3. Grocery shop for Easter dinner
  4. Keep on sewing :)
  5. Healthy eating all week long (the diet started Sunday)

Today - My 29th Birthday

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yes, yes it is true.  Today is my 29th Birthday and I am super excited!  I love my birthday, even today as I turn 29.  Getting old doesn't scare me and see that in 1 year I will be the big 30!  Funny part is, I don't feel 29.  In fact I have never felt my age.  I remember when we signed the contract for our house and I said to Andy, "I don't feel old enough to purchase a house".  And yet, we did purchase our first home together.   :)

Here's the list of real life friends I share a birthday with:
