Happy Halloween Friends!

Happy Halloween Friends!

I have nothing fun to post about for Halloween for you all to see.  Halloween just isn't that fun what you are older and have no kids.  :(  But that's OK, because tomorrow is November 1st and that means the holidays are just that much closer!!!  :)

My "Halloween" outfit....lame!
Orange polka-dot cardigan and bright orange socks.

Yes, the Cardinals lost the World Series last night to the Boston Red Socks.  To be honest, I didn't watch any of the game last night.  I was tired and didn't feel like watching our team lose.  On a plus side, the Cardinals still did an amazing job this year and I can't wait until next season!

Not sure what my plans are for tonight.  It will either consist of TV watching or going to see my niece and nephew for a short bit.  I hope you all have a safe and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

French Dip Sandwiches

French Dip Sandwiches

Ingredients
  • a beef roast (we make for the two of us 2 lbs of meat at a time. This will make 2 meals for the both of us)
  • Au Jus mix, powdered  (You can also use canned)
  • 3 beef bullion cubes
Directions
  1. Roast beef in oven until medium.
  2. Take beef out of oven and let cool.  Place in fridge for overnight (makes slicing easier)
  3. The next morning take beef out of fridge and slice into thin slices
  4. In the crock-pot mix the powdered Au Jus mix with water as directed on the package.
  5. Add the 3 beef bullion cubes
  6. Place sliced beef in the crock-pot
  7. Let cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
  8. DEVOUR the deliciousness!
We use a day old loaf of bread from Jimmy Johns.  Put provel or swiss cheese on the bread and toast.  Add beef onto the hot, toasty bread and ENJOY!!

Blog Changes!

Yesterday was a whirl-win of a work day!  It flew by, but made my day go by fast!  I came home an hour late to a crock-pot meal made by my awesome husband!  French Dip Sandwiches!!  All I had to do was pick up a loaf of day old bread, thank you Jimmy Johns for offering 50 cent day old bread to go along with our french dips!!  I was STARVING!!!  I only had several bites of chili and a side salad from the cafeteria for lunch.  Needless to say, I was HANGRY and ready for some dinner.

Here is a preview of the deliciousness!
I will post the recipe tomorrow for you all to enjoy and share! :)

 Normally after I get home from work, I have NO desire to work on the computer since I just spent the last 8 hours on a computer.  Last night, I decided to finally buckle down and get some new things added to the blog!  I've had this blog for over a year now and it was time to do some updates and add some things to it.  This has been a work in progress.  Google and YouTube are my bestest friends EVA!

 I did manage to add on the following:

and these:

Better Together and Forever

It's a work in progress, but so far, I am happy with what I came up with!  My first year of college I did manage to take an HTML class so I am vaguely familiar with HTML coding.  With the help of google and all of those lovely tutorials on how to make my blog HIP and HAPPENIN.....I would be so lost without them!  :)   I spent a good 2 hours on the blog and around 8:30 PM I decided to give it a rest and get some sleep.  I'd like to work some more on the blog and since I had 2 new things come out on the blog, you may see more changes!  Baby steps!

Cards Baseball!

Oh it's a Monday and I am feeling it today.  Not sure if it's because so many people I work with have been getting sick (here's hoping I don't get sick from all of them) or if it's because it's just Monday and who really wants to be at work today!?!

Saturday the Cardinals won game 3 because of an obstruction call made by the Red Socks which in returns scored us a run and won the game for us, all in the bottom of the 9th inning!  I could "hear" my brother yelling out that he was so excited (ok so I couldn't really hear him yelling, but I am imaging him in his parole car yelling of excitement.)  Game 4 was last night and we lost....boo!  Game 5 takes place tonight, the final home game of the World Series for the Cardinals!  If we win tonight and a game at Boston then we are the 2013 World Series Champions!!  Here's hoping!  :)

Here is my weekend in a photo recap:

  1. Homemade pizza for dinner Friday night!  :)
  2. Keeley and I hanging out on Saturday afternoon
  3. Smokey cuddling on the couch with me while we watched the movie, "The Heat" with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy.  HILARIOUS!!
  4. A breakfast casserole I made for breakfast Sunday morning. Recipe to come Wednesday!
  5. Keeley REALLY wanting some of the bacon from my breakfast casserole.  Of course she did get some ;)
  6. Smokey decided to snoop in my bathroom sink and see if he could find anything fun to play with.
  7. Jena's new shirt, she LOVES T-Rex!  My mom and I found this shirt for her.
  8. Jena the model with her "Thanksgiving Hat"
  9. Jena modeling the "Turkey Hat".  You know we were at Target, where else would we be!?!  :)

High Five for Friday!!

Happy Friday!
I love how Facebook tells me who won the game last night.
Sadly, I did not stay up for the end results, I decided my sleep was more important.
First thing I checked this morning when my alarm went off, the score of the game:
4-2 : Cardinals!

Happy Flight Home to the STL Cardinals!
Series is: 1 Cardinals, 1 Boston!

  1. I found some "Halloweeny" sparkle nail polish at Walgreens this week for $1!  This has helped in the "not biting the nails" department and I feel very festive! :)
  2. Andy and I took my brother and sister (Joe and Jena) out to dinner Tuesday night.  Dinner was at Buffalo Wild Wings and we all had a great time.  We sent this photo to my mom to let her know that her kids are alive.  :)  Haha.
  3. Andy decided to hold Smokey like a baby and he actually stayed in Andy's arms like that for a minute or so without wiggling.  Then he was done and wanted to be free!
  4. Cardinals are in the World Series!  Games 3, 4, and 5 take place here at home (Saturday, Sunday and Monday!) Here's hoping we can win all 3 games at home and win the World Series!  If not, then let's at least win the Series, whether it's at home or not.  :)
  5. Last night Keeley and Mokes were cuddling with me.  Smokey normally lies in my lap and Keeley takes the pillow above my head.  I really am loved!

Finally, I am going to repost the ever adorable photo of my nephew Jackson and let him tell you, "GO CARDS!"

Pumpkin Patch 2013

Ah, Thursday!  So sorry for not getting anything about my weekend up until now.  This week has been super busy at work.  I also took photos with my good camera so I had to upload the photos to the computer before I could post them.  We also had a big cold front come through.  I'm not sure if I am being a big baby or what, but man it is cold out there!  Last nights low was in the upper 30's.  I swear it could snow out there right now.  Also, I spent a good 2 hours updating my MacBook Pro to the FREE upgraded software of Maverick!  FREE is for ME!!  So far so good.  I see a couple of new things on the computer, but otherwise it all looks about the same.  I have heard with the new software, that is saves on battery life.  We shall see there.

So let's get to the weekend wrap-up, 4 days late.....

Over the weekend it was filled with lots of fun with family!  Friday night I watched on TV the Cardinals win the NLCS! Saturday night we met up with Andy's parents at Cheeburger Cheeburger for dinner.  It's a cool 50's style diner burger joint.  After dinner we went to see Gravity 3D IMAX.  The movie was good, but not the best ever.  Honestly, I don't think I will ever see this movie again, but it was a good experience to see it in 3D.  In fact, I'd recommend seeing this in 3D while you can.

3D glasses!  We're cool, we know it!

This is most weekend mornings for me, cat on the right, dog on the left.  Lots of cuddles!!

While doing laundry, I had an audience.

What a cute Mokies he is!!

Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch with my family.  All 11 of us.  The weather was absolutely perfect for the pumpkin patch too!  I remembered to bring my camera and took some awesome shots.

Favorite photo from the day!

BIRDS!

Oh how I LOVE Fridays!  I am not a fan of the going to work part (who is really), but I am excited that today is the last day of work and then two days off!  That means sleeping in, enjoying time with Andy and the fur-babies and lounging on the couch watching TV (of course the ever dreaded chores get in the way, but i'd rather clean than live in a pigsty).  The Cardinals are back in town for game 6 of the NLCS vs. The Dodgers, I am hoping that we kick their butt tonight and then we won't have to worry about a game 7 and go onto the World Series!!  :) Also, Friday for me is Lions Choice Lunch Day!  Lions Choice is a fast food place that serves amazing roast beef sandwiches.  I always go there on Friday for my one day out to eat because Andy isn't that big of a fan of it.

Okie doke, let's get to a Friday Favorite: High Five for Friday or 5 on Friday!

{ONE}

This photo need no explanation! :)

{TWO}
We decided to sit downstairs and enjoy some Big Bang Theory on the projector.  It was only 125"!  It is AWESOME!

Here is a real life comparison of the size of the screen, Andy is standing to the left.  He is 6 ft tall.  As you can tell, we are waiting to getting the tapping and mudding done of the drywall (hopefully that will start next week).  Then comes painting the walls, putting the floor in, installing trim, and then enjoy the hard work that Andy and his Dad put into the beautiful basement!

{THREE}

Finally got some Froyo last night! I ate the whole thing and didn't feel the slightest guilty about it!  In fact, I'd like another bowl of Froyo at this moment!  :)  We have the following flavors: Brownie batter froyo with caramel turtles and caramel sauce, coffee froyo with some more caramel turtles and caramel sauce, and peanut butter froyo with chocolate chips and brownie pieces.

{FOUR}

Hahaha!  Twitter "war" with the radio dj on Y98 over who is the girlfriend of Justin Timberlake!  :)  I got a good laugh at work about it.  Don't worry Jill Devine, I won't stop listening to you.  :)   I took video of her talking about our twitter "war" also.  It was so much fun.

{FIVE}
I posted this Wednesday on my instagram.  I got a photo of myself with Keeley and Smokey on the couch!  Granted I was just eating ice cream and they both wanted a taste, but it's a great photo non the less!  :)  Oh how I love those 2 cute aminals!!
