First, I realize that I am late in writing this. I am also VERY late in posting my Christmas Eve and Christmas activities for you all also. It's not that I haven't been wanting to write, its just life in general got in the way. Mix in the holidays with your life and working over the holidays and you have a "mind explosion" moving at the pace of 24/7.
I guess I shall post about our New Year's. While a lot of people got ready, super dressed up and stayed out late for New Years, we did not. We both had to work New Years Eve (which means getting up at 5:!5 am). When we got home, we went out to dinner at my favorite, Olive Garden (Chicken Parm, get in my belly!!) and then came home to watch a movie and "try" to stay up until the ball drop. I knew that there was no way I would be able to stay up, and I was right. I was out around 9:30 pm that night. Sad....
Me on New Years Eve at work.
Sparkle tank top and sparkle cardi are a must for New Years Eve! :)
New Years Day we both had off (Yay!) and spent a lot of down time at home. I didn't really sleep in because it was a Wednesday and if I slept too much, I wouldn't be able to sleep that night and I'd be extra exhausted on Thursday and Friday at work. Cinnamon Rolls started off our first meal of the New Year. I even convinced Andy to go out to JoAnn fabrics with me to help pick out fabric for a new blanket I wanted to make! Back home we at lunch (left over Chicken Parm and breadsticks) and we watched some more TV. Right now, we are hooked on the TV show, Suits! LOVE!!!!! Andy and I finished up a couple last minute things in the basement. I painted the trim and door in the bathroom and HATED every minute of painting it. I am not a paintbrush kind of girl. Give me a roller and the wall and I'm good to go. Give me a brush and having to be extra careful around walls, edges, creases and cracks and I go CRAZY!!! I did get it finished with the help of Andy and some paint on the new floor....OOPS! We also set up my sewing table in the basement and put my sewing machine and supplies down there! Having that down there, makes me feel like I too can belong in the "Man Cave". I am so excited to start my new blanket.
I then made dinner which didn't taste right, silly me didn't have the right seasoning (seasoning salt) and I substituted with something else. First bite in, not good. I mean it wasn't horrible, but it just wasn't the right taste. I plan on purchasing some seasoning salt in the near future and trying that recipe out again very shortly. Andy grabbed some popcorn to munch on and I cut up and apple and ate it with some caramel dip. Bad choice again.....the apple was kinda mushy inside. I gave up with food the rest of the night. :)
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon/evening also working on this blog. I haven't been too happy with the outlook of it lately until I found Jessica Sims Designs. She offers free blogger templates and I wanted to try one of them out on my blog. So far, I say it looks good. Thanks to Jessica for offering these free templates to help jazz up my blog! :)
This morning I woke up to about 3-4 inches of the white stuff on the ground. It only took me an extra 20 minutes to get into work, but hey, I am here! :) I took a photo of the road for you all to see. Don't worry, we weren't moving at the time so I was safe and kept a safe distance in front of me at all times. :)
