5 on Friday - August 7th!

Happy Friday! Tonight I played "single mom" due to the fact that poor Andy was stuck at work really late tonight. While I enjoyed spending the time with Luke, I felt like a piece of us was missing without Andy here. I know he was really bummed about not spending time with Luke too.

ONE

Not sure what's come over me lately, but for the last couple of months I have been really into makeup. Trying new products, watching vlog reviews of makeup and seeing what works best for me! One of the vloggers I regularly watch suggested this lipstick color and I've have looked everywhere for it. Well props to Amazon and Prime shipping! I'm excited to try it out tomorrow.

TWO

Another new favorite makeup item of mine are these beauty blenders from good ol Amazon again! For $14.97, you get 4 of these. I tried these without googling "How to use beauty blenders" and wasn't thrilled. Then I decided to get smart and GTS (Google that S*!t) and found that you need to get these sponges good and wet. They then expand to 25% bigger in size. Wring out as much water as possible, apply foundation and "Wah-la", foundation that looks flawless on your face!

THREE

I can be picky when it comes to protein powder and this takes the cake for tasting good. Granted I don't drink this with just a liquid and a shaker. I like to make mine in a smoothie format. I fill my cup with ice, add a splash of a coffee flavoring (this is my favorite right now), a scoop of protein powder and fill the cup with milk. Blend and put in a cup with a straw. It's my go to breakfast to drink in the car on my way to work.

FOUR

Yep, gotta add in the "Mommy Blog" part of this blog and say how much I love these diapers for Luke to use at night. Luke woke up 2 mornings in a row with wet mammies and I started to look for night time diapers. I tried another store brand and I didn't like them. They didn't do well and were just like the daytime diapers. I then decided to try the Pampers brand and LOVED them because Luke no longer had soaked jammies. We order these from Amazon and get a subscription every other month.

FIVE
What a better way to end this blog than with an adorable photo of my baby! We did a little photo shoot at home with my Canon dSLR on Saturday night. I needed to order Luke's 1st Birthday invitation and wanted to get some adorable photos of Luke with a neutral background. Trust me, we have a bajillion photos of Luke, but none with a background like the one above.

I hope you all have an enjoyable Friday and hope that your weekend is just as fabulous!

All of the products I mentioned in this post I enjoy and am blogging about for my own pleasure. I was in no way compensated to speak about the products above. If you are looking for product endorsement opportunities from me, please email me at bettertogetherandforever@gmail.com

Oh hey, it's FRIDAY!!!!

I know, I say this every week, but YES THANK YOU GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A quick congratulations to my neighbor's on the birth of their baby boy early this morning! It's funny to think that Luke and my neighbor's baby will be in the same grade in school if we all are still living by each other then. Luke is almost 7 months old but the way the school's work he, our neighbor's baby and the other neighbor on the other side of us who had their baby in January will all be in the same grade. So fun! I will say though, them having a baby makes me have a tiny little bit of baby fever......and then I think about how hard it would be with Luke and then a second on with Luke's age and I let that baby fever go away. HAHA! Not for a couple years.....

ONE

Oh my gosh, this pizza is AMAZING and I have been craving it ever since we had it last Friday, soooooo guess what's for dinner tonight! :) Haha! It's called Fox's Pizza Den and is AMAZING!!!!

TWO
Has anyone else tried using a Bento box for their lunches? If not, I highly suggest so! I am a tupperware hoarder, just ask my husband. There are days when I bring home 3 things of tupperware PLUS a bowl that I used to eat my oatmeal in....this Bentgo box eliminates the usage of many tupperware boxes and keeps it all separate and tidy.

THREE
Since Luke is starting to sit up more (mostly assisted by leaning up against me or Andy) he has taken an interest in the VTech Walker. Anything that lights up and sings is a plus in Luke's book!

FOUR
How do you hold yourself accountable in drinking water during the day? I decided last week that I was going to mark on my work water bottle times of the day and where I should be at with drinking water. I am HORRIBLE at drinking water just because I forget, especially at work. On Wednesday I drank 5 water bottles full of water at work! I felt awesome and need to keep reminding myself to keep drinking the agua!

FIVE
Like you thought I wouldn't think I would post a photo of Luke on the blog......HA! Yesterday it was very warm and humid, a perfect weather pattern to set up for tornadoes...... Luke and I enjoyed hanging outside while Andy barbecued us some dinner. We tried some Apple Chicken Sausages from Trader Joes. They were ok, not my favorite but I'd probably eat them again. I am not a fan of bratwursts so the chicken sausages just didn't excite me.

I hope you all enjoy your weekend. We were going to try to get to the zoo on Saturday, but I set up an appointment for an estimate to getting a patio poured on our house. So not exactly sure what's in store for our weekend. It doesn't really matter to me though, as long as I get to spend it with Andy and Luke, I am happy! :)

Rain and LOTS of it!

Thank goodness it is Friday! Seriously, this week was dragged on and I thought it was never going to end! Yesterday just felt like a Friday so it kinda feels like groundhog day today since today is really Friday. It's a rainy and dreary Friday at that! At least it's been nice all the other days this week and we were able to get out daily evening walks in. Keeley and Luke are in heaven during those walks. :)

Photo 1: My thoughts on this rainy Friday. At least it's Friday!
Photo 2: A boy and his dog on their evening walk. LOVE!

ONE
Today I am picking up my car from the shop. I can't go into detail at the moment of what happened, but let's just say I got into an accident (thankfully Luke and Andy were NOT with me that morning and I am OK too) and the poor Prius (that isn't even a year old) needed to be fixed. As much fun as the rental has been (Nissan Rouge), I am ready to be back in my Prius.

TWO
I am not a very fancy blogger. I have used blogger.com to write my blogs and to read my favorite blogs and lately, it has been making me disgruntled. I am finding that most of my favorite blogs that I have listed in the left hand column of blogger.com are showing up in my feed, but some are not. What is up with that? Also, I used to get an email every time someone would comment on my blog that was posted for that day and now I am not. Am I doing something wrong?

Well anyways, I have decided to move my blog reading over to BlogLovin'. I am soooooo late to the game in this and have had Blog Lovin' for a good 2 years now, but I am finally taking the plunge in actually using Blog Lovin.

Better Together and Forever

THREE
Luke turned 6 months old yesterday! How can he be that old already!?! But then again I look back at life before Luke and it's hard to ever imagine our life without him in it! It's been the best and hardest 6 months of my life and I wouldn't change a thing about it! He is the happiest, calm and generally in a good mood baby.

FOUR
Speaking of Mr. Luke, it is time once again to move his bottle nipples up to the fast flow. I noticed this morning that he is collapsing the nipples because he is too fast at drinking the bottles. Thank goodness for Amazon.com and their deals. As much as I like to shop in local stores, I prefer the prices on Amazon.com more often than in store deals. I picked up 3 packages of these and 3 packages of these. :)

FIVE
I love to look every once in awhile at the Buy Sell Trade pages on Facebook in my area and came across a deal that I just couldn't pass up. A lady posted her son's Baby Einstein's Jumperoo up for $15! I jumped at the chance at getting it and was the first to comment so it was mine!!!  Luke tried it for the first time yesterday and while it took him some time to get use to since it's not exactly like his Fisher Price jumperoo, I think he will love it in time. It will be nice to bring this outside too so that both Andy and I can get stuff done outside but Luke will also be entertained also since he's not crawling or walking yet.

High Chair Smiles

What a week and boy am I glad it is almost over! Luke is finally on the mend from his sickies, my boss is back from being on vacation, and we received a tiny amount of snow/ice on Wednesday. I realllllllly wish we would get a good blizzard this year, but so far it's a no go with the white stuff. In fact tomorrow' high temp is suppose to be in the 60's. Any normal person would be excited about that, but to be honest I am not. Any time in the winter when the weather does this (changes from 20's to 60's and then back down to the 20's) you can almost bet that sickies will be right around the corner again. BOO!

ONE -

Hey there cute kid! Luke yesterday was in a great mood (for a good 5 minutes in the high chair) until Mommy took too long in making his sweet potatoes and he became increasingly hangry. Obviously this photo was taken before the hangry stage. :)

TWO -

Oh the romance from Andy.....I did laugh though when I received these funny "card" from Andy via text. The "lie in bed and look at my phone next too" is us every night in bed. HA!

 THREE -

I am wanting to do some new things to our home and one of the key things I'd like to do this year is put up a back splash in our kitchen. I found this one a couple weeks ago and fell in love! Just wish it was cheaper than $11.98 a piece! Good thing we don't need too much to make our kitchen purdy!

FOUR -

Has anyone tried Trader Joe's pizza dough? We did a couple weeks ago and I LOVED it! Not only was the price on par ($1.99), but the taste was pretty good too. The only complaint I had was how hard it was to get it rolled out onto the pan. It took forever and we had to "patch" several holes with dough from the edges. We used Imo's cheese and sauce to compliment our pizza.

FIVE -
Fit Me® Shine-Free Foundation - Maybelline New York

Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder - Maybelline New York

New makeup time!  I've been eyeing this Maybelline brand because I had heard nothing but good reviews from it. I picked these up at CVS this week. They are on sale for buy 1, get 1 half off, plus I had a $3 manufactures coupon and $5 in store cash from CVS! I practically walked away with these for free. I cannot believe that I am using the color "classic ivory" but this girl hasn't been in the sun much at all the last couple of years.

Loving Lipstick

Oh Happy Day, it's Friday!!!!!

1.

I don't know why, but lately I've been about lipsticks (which has never happened in my 30 years of life), but lately, I want a little color on my lips. I found a lipstick at CVS that was half off from Covergirl and it was ok, I wasn't a fan of the color on. Then I went to Target on Saturday and found these; Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie and Peach Parfait. The main reason I picked them up was because I was the sign advertising the price was $1.97. Well heck yeah, I'll try these two lipsticks at only $2 a piece and if I don't like them, then who cares! They then rang up at $6.97 a piece. I told the cashier about the price I saw and she pulled the tag and said you get the $1.97 price. I was then kicking myself and should have picked up the red color that I was debating. But oh well! I tried them on at home and LOVE the colors! They are not too much but give you at least a little color to your lips.

2.

Look what came in the mail a day early!!!! I was so excited to wear my new FitBit Charge HR last night. I got it all set up with my computer and phone. Wore it all night long and it killed my right wrist (I write and eat left handed which makes watch wearing on your left hand feeling bulky). So now the FitBit is on my left wrist and I am still not as fond of it. I am thinking it's because it is too small. I ordered the Small size and I have the FitBit on the 3rd to last notch. I cant use the last 2 notches because the piece that holds down the strap doesn't have a place to "lock" it into place. Sooooo I am thinking about sending this back and getting a size Large. We shall see. I love everything else about it though.

3.

Mr. Luke has had a cough and it likes to wake him up at night. So we decided to put an "angle" in his crib to help him sleep at night. Well this small angle plus he is moving more in bed had made him wake up vertical when I put him to sleep horizontal in bed. What a silly goof.

4.

For Christmas from my Dad and his wife, Deb, Luke received many presents including this little fun number. I found it on Amazon and thought it would be great for his high chair or when we are out to eat and he is bored. It suction cups to the table so it doesn't go anywhere and its fun to look at and spin. You can find this fun little Sassy Wonder Wheel toy here

5.

If you haven't figured out yet, we are amazon.com fanatics!!! This little fun number we order from there too: The Mum & Bubi Solids Starter Kit. We made baby food over the weekend (sweet potatoes and summer squash) and froze them in the Mum & Bubi freezer trays. At first we couldn't figure out how to get the frozen food out of the trays and that's where YouTube helped us out. After we watched a 30 second video we tried the trays and and they came out with little to no effort! Score! I plan on blogging about making baby food next week. But for now, I highly suggest these trays! :)

Welcome 2015!

2015 is officially here and I just cannot believe it! Yesterday I enjoyed the day with Andy, Luke and of course the fur-babies. Nothing too fancy since we both have to work today.

New Year's Eve we spent the low-key evening of dinner at White Castles (Andy picked it up and brought it home because it was too cold to go out), cuddling on the couch with Luke (who ended up zonking out in my arms for a 30 minute cat nap around 4 PM), watching a movie ("Tammy" which was ok but we didn't finish it. It had some funny parts, but I was getting bored with it and I was tired) and going to bed before midnight (I lasted until 9:30 PM). I think in the last 5 New Year's that I have spent with Andy, we have never stayed up until midnight....LOL! This year of course because we have an infant.

He zonked out around 4 pm in my arms, it was so sweet.

Hey, there's Smokey!

He loves this ball! He only wishes that he could put it in his mouth easier.

Couch cuddles with mama!

Andy and Keeley

Keeley OUT

I did manage to wake up at midnight though and only because people in my neighborhood were shooting off fireworks. Every "boom" sound I was praying that Luke would not wake up. Thankfully he didn't and slept through the noises! We had a middle of the night feeding at 3:30 AM and then immediately back to sleep until 6:45 AM. I got up with little dude. Changed him and let him play in his rain-forest bouncer. I cannot believe how big he is getting! Just a month ago he could barely hold his body up in that bouncer and now he is flat footed on the floor and playing away comfortably on it.

We ended up running some errands. I drug Andy to the Carter's outlet with me. I had a $10 off coupon to use and it expired on the 3rd. I ended up picking Luke 6 pairs of jammies, a onesie, a pair of pants and a light jacket up for $24! That was a deal! I think the jammies came out to being less than $3 a pair which is awesome and totally worth it. You can't get Carter's jammies used at Once Upon a Child for less than that!

We then drove around to different car lots looking at cars. We have finally come to the conclusion that Andy's little orange 2 door car is just not cutting it for us. Plus the longer we keep it and drive it, the more is depreciates. So were trying to figure out what to go with. We really want an SUV, but our price range and what's out there used is just not going to be in our favor. The SUV's that are in our price range are really beat up and not well taken care of. If the outside isn't taken care of, then how hard did they drive that car? So right now were just trying to figure out that whole car thing. I don't want to jump into anything that doesn't feel right, so were just taking our time and going to figure something out.

Holding his bottle

Look how long he is! He is about to outgrow this bouncer already!!

Best photo of me and Luke!
I LOVE IT!!
I was able to get him to smile so quickly for this photo.

I got the taggie blanket out for him today, he loved it!

Luke also thinks the taggie blanket tastes good.
Oh hey there cute little family of mine!
