High Five for Friday #8

  1. Me and my brother Jack at his graduation party Monday!  My mom and I made his graduation cake.  She baked a lemon cake (2 - 9" round pans).  I made the lemon cream cheese whipped icing.  It came out pretty good.
  2. How cute is this photo of Jack and Claire!  Super adorable if you ask me.  :)
  3. Smokey and Keeley are sitting down right next to each other!  See, they really do love each other!  They are buddies.
  4. Me, my sister Jena and my Mom at Jack's high school graduation ceremony.  We were waiting for the ceremony to start.
  5. "If I fits, I sits"  Yep, that's what my cat thinks.  He decided to make himself comfy on the second row in our bookshelf.  What a goof!!

Throwback Thursday!

On Monday while I was at my mom's house for my brother Jacks' graduation party, we decided to pull out old photos and look at how little Jack was as a baby.  My baby book came out and many, many photos to go through.  So today, I can finally participate in Throwback Thursday!!

The Story of Us

Today's Throwback Thursday photo come to you via 1995!

This photo was on Easter in 1995 when my brother Jack was just 53 days old and still hanging out in the NICU!  It's amazing to think that Jack was that tiny.  He was born 2 lbs, 5 oz.  Now he's an 18 year old adult heading off to college in the fall!!

Don't you love the Polaroid photo and my awesome hair and glasses!  :)

Where did Memorial Weekend Go??!?

I cannot believe that the weekend is already over with and we are starting a new week on a Tuesday, (BONUS!!)  Our weekend was pretty low key.

Saturday -
My first Saturday workout!!  I hit the gym around 10am to get in some cardio.  I was in the process of running day 5 of Couch to 5K, had about 10 minutes left of the 31 minute program.  Im running on the treadmill at a 5.5 rate and I somehow hit the cancel button on the dang machine which automatically stops the machine and you cannot start from when you hit stop.  I was over it.  I worked on some arms and abs and left.  To say I was frustrated, it would be an understatement   Lunch date with Ali and her son Sam at Chick Fil A!  It's becoming a regular thing and I think I can handle that! ;)  After lunch I went over to Target to get some shopping done in the rain.  Boooo rain, go away!!  I came home, changed into some sweat pants (yes, you read that correctly, it was in the 50's on Saturday) and enjoyed some couch time.  Andy and his dad finished up what they had planned on the basement early and we BBQ'd with his mom.  Hot dogs, hamburgers and fries.  YUM!!

Sunday -
Our One Year Anniversary (Yep, I was suppose to blog about that.....YEAH.....you see time flies!)  My mom, sister, and I ran out to pick up graduation party supplies for my brother Jack's graduation party on Monday.  We ate lunch at Crazy Bowls and Wraps (my first time eating there) and then spent an hour and a half at my brother Jeff's house.  That night Andy and I went to dinner at "Dewey's Pizza" and a movie at the Wehrenberg 5 Star Lounge!  It was AWESOME!!  We sat in comfy recliners and watched "Fast and Furious 6".  The movie was quite good too!!

Monday -
The temperatures were back in the 80's but the rain will just not go away!!  It's driving us all crazy.  So tired of threats of thunderstorms and tornado's.  Donuts were in order for breakfast, yes you read that right.  YUMMY!!  Some couch lounging also happened and perhaps a Target trip that included finding a cardigan for $6.54 on clearance!!  SCORE!  Around 3 we headed over to my parents house for Jack's graduation party.  I am so unbelievably proud of him.  We ate some yummy food and enjoyed good times together.  That's all we ever want to do.  :)

Tonight is Jack's graduation ceremony.  Be on the lookout tomorrow for more photos and information about the graduation.

Cardinals vs. Brewers 5-2-2013

While in Wisconsin we had the opportunity to attend a Brewer's game when the Cardinals were in town.  Our seats we're not where we thought they were going to be, but they turned out pretty good.  We originally thought the seats were 5 rows behind home plate, field level.  Instead they were 5 rows behind home plate, only a level up.....

In Wisconsin they tailgate, something we do not do in Saint Louis.  I don't know if it's because of the lack of parking downtown or what, but it was a first for me to tailgate.  Of course, the day of the game it just had to be cold.  I'm talking rainy, 40-50 degree weather.  Boo on the weather that day!  We grilled some hot dogs and drank some beer.  I actually had two drinks that day {watch out now!}  I was hoping that it would help keep me warm.  :)

Yes, Nick is wearing Cubs gear.....he does it just to make people mad at the stadium.  Even though Andy and I are Cardinals fans, it doesn't bother us because it's Nick!  The reason being that he loves the Cubs.  He grew up listening and seeing the games with his Grandfather as a kid.  I think we can give him a little slack for the Cubs gear then.

Nick and Andy "pre-tailgating" at the house.

Brewer's Stadium, Miller Park

Nick smoking a cigar, drinking and covering up with a pink blanky!  Priceless!

Yep, here we go again with the many photos until we get a good one...HA!

I want to say that this is beer number 8 for Andy at this time too.

Good one!  :) Thanks Andy!!

Nick and Andy.  Best buddies!

Every time the Brewer's his a home run, Bernie {their mascot} slides down this slide.  It's pretty neat when you see it.  They always show him going down the slide at the beginning of the game.  No home runs were hit by the Brewer's that night, so no more sliding happened.

Panoramic view of the stadium with my hilarious husband in the picture. Somehow the panoramic photo made Andy's face all goofy looking.  I think I cried laughing so hard at this photo.

The Cardinals up to bat!

The Cardinals of course ended up winning the game: 6-5 final score!

In all the Brewer's Stadium is a beautiful stadium.  It was a lot of fun and I am just waiting for my first game at Busch Stadium this year.  First game of the year for us: June 23rd vs Texas Rangers!

High Five for Friday #7

  1. Saturday morning Smokey decided he wasn't getting enough attention.  I had just woken up and was walking into my bathroom.  He proceeded to jump on the counter and demand some love.  I took the opportunity in taking a cute photo of us!
  2. A photo of Smokey, Keeley and I.  I thought it turned out pretty cute!
  3. I decided to get the sewing machine out last Saturday and Smokey decided to "help" me.  :)
  4. Keeley has not been eating all of her food at one time and leaving some in the bowl for later.  Well Smokey has decided to help himself to the dog food.....I kid you not, he seriously eats the dog food!
  5. A cute cuddle moment with Keeley and Andy!  LOVE!

It's OK

Not going to lie, last night I was exhausted.  For example:  Fell asleep at 7 pm on the couch while watching "How I Met Your Mother".  Andy woke me up at 7:45 pm to head upstairs {yes, its sad to go to bed at 7:45 pm}.  Watched some more "How I Met Your Mother" until 9  pm.  Lights and TV were out at 9 pm.  I swear my alarm clock went off about 10 minutes later.....but not true.  I received 8 hours and 15 minutes of good sleep.  :)

Another confession:  I did not go to the gym last night....I know, I know.  I can hear you all now.  When I got into my car after work, I looked in my gym bag because I had a sneaking suspicion that I forgot socks and I was right.  I can't work out with no socks and my silver sparkle Toms were the shoe of choice for work, SO I decided to go pick up some cat food for Smokey.  I had every intention of getting home, change for the gym and workout.  Got home, and our neighbor Justin had mowed.  Once he mowed, our lawn looked AWFUL with how long the grass was.  3 days straight of rain will do that to your lawn.  So cutting grass became a priority instead of the gym.

Thursday's goal:  To the gym straight after work.  PROMISE!!!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK

~That I skipped the gym last night, but I totally plan on going today after work.

~That on Monday I forgot to pack a sports bra in my gym bag, so I worked out with the bra I had on.  That's dedication people!

~That I haven't been counting calories this week...I've really been trying hard to watch my portions and calories still.

~That I am craving sweets.  Just limit the portions, but still get my sweet tooth in.

~That I went to get Frozen Yogurt with Andy on Tuesday night.  I only ate half of it and the other half came home with me for another day.

~That I am so looking forward to this weekend.  3 DAY WEEKEND!!

~That I am looking forward to my 1 year anniversary with Andy on Sunday!  This weekends goal: To post about our wedding weekend from last year.  I still haven't done that yet....better now than never!  :)

~That I wish we had more money so that we could go on a tropical vacation for our anniversary.

~That I still drink coffee out of my "Bride" cup!  :) Hey, it's a Tervis tumbler and those things are amazing at keeping the coffee warm.

~That yesterday was Waffle Wednesday!

~That I am sad to say goodbye to my friend's Grandmother tomorrow.  She passed away last Friday.  Visitation is tonight and funeral is tomorrow.
This is a photo of me and "Grandma" Donna from
2008 at her surprise anniversary party.

Couch to 5K.....again!

I am back on the working out wagon again and as you can tell by my posting title, Couch to 5K is also back.  Reason being:  my sister and I are officially signed up for the Komen Race for the Cure in Saint Louis.  When I say we are officially signed up, I mean we entered in as timed runners.  {Eyes wide open in fright}.  What have I gotten myself into.....

Last week I started in the gym again training on the treadmill.  I had decided to take photos of my distance and times each time I completed a day of training so that I could get if I was getting better throughout my course.

Wednesday, 5/15

Friday, 5/17

Monday, 5/20

Day four of training is today, and I am not going to lie, I have NO motivation to go to the gym today......so sleepy!!  All I want to do is put jammies on when I get home and watch TV all night.....BUUUUUUT we all know that I cannot do that.  So, to the gym I must go!

Sprecher's

While we were in Wisconsin, we decided to partake in a beer tour.  Best part about this tour, they also make their own homemade soda!!   I highly suggest if you are in the Milwaukee area and you are looking for a great brewing company tour to go on; Sprecher's is it!!

Gift store area!

Tried it, and it was pretty tasty!

My beer tour and sample bracelet.
