Luke Andrew - 4 Months Old

Month - 4 Months Old, January 12th, 2015

Height - 26.5 inches (2 ft, 2.5 inches) (95th percentile)

Weight - 16 pounds, 4.5 ounces (68th percentile)

Diaper Size - 3!  We just finished out the size 2 diapers and now were onto size 3 diapers. I have a hard time buying in bulk of diapers right now because of his height and weight gain. I don't want to be stuck with a bunch of diapers that don't fit him.

Clothing Size - mostly all 9 month clothing and some 6 month clothing (pants only and those are getting too small). His jammies were just too short for his long leggies so we moved him up in the New Year! I also noticed that his onesies were getting tight and hard to button up, so we are in the 9 month onesies.....is this kid ever going to slow down in the clothing department? I was joking with Andy that he will be in 24 month clothes by his 1st Birthday!

Sleep - we've gotten into a sleep routine but it's not sleeping through the entire night...ugh! Bedtime process starts between 6 and 7 pm. Bath, bottle then bed. You are really good at just falling asleep now when I lie you down. Sometime you whine but you usually put yourself to sleep. Then you start to stir around midnight. Sometimes you will go back to sleep and other times you want to eat right then and there. Then you're back up anywhere around 4-5 AM which works perfect on weekdays so I can feed you, change you and then get ready for work myself. On weekends I put you back down and you will sleep until 6:30 or 7 AM.

Eating - 5 ounces and we started on rice cereal on New Years Day. I could tell that the formula just wasn't filling him up. He's done great so far on the rice cereal. We haven't been consistent with it though because you got your first ear infection in both ears and have been quite crabby lately.

Likes - when it's time to eat, his pacifier "Bink", bath time and baby massages, mornings when he is the most happiest, car rides, his light up play mat, being held, looking around when we are out shopping and he is awake, comfy cozy blankets, kisses from Mommy, people talking to you, playing with Daddy (air drumming, rocket ship noises, air karate), Mommy singing silly songs to you and having you dance along

Dislikes - sitting in one place for too long, sitting in his car seat when the car is NOT moving, stuffy noses, coughing, getting his blood drawn, getting his nose un-stuffy (although he is getting use to it and doesn't fuss as much), being tired, being hungry, being ignored

Firsts - Christmas, New Years, ear infection, trying rice cereal, 9 month clothing, sitting on Santa's lap, going to work with Mommy, car shopping, taking the newborn insert out of the car seat (you fit so much better in there now)

Nicknames - Mr. Luke, bubba, little dude, little buddy, buddy, Mommy's baby, booger, cutie patootie

Christmas Morning 2014

Christmas morning we woke up at the reasonable time of 7 AM and just spent some special time together. We decided on the yummy breakfast of french toast and bacon. Nothing wrong with that! Luke of course enjoyed the ever tasty bottle of formula. Next year he will get to join in, in the tasty breakfast that we make!

The rest of our morning was spent lounging around with Luke, Keeley and Smokey. Luke did get some Christmas presents from us. We got him an O Ball, a Wobble Bobble, a Laugh and Learn Puppy, and a pair of Christmas PJ's from Carters. He wore those jammies that day for Christmas. Andy and I decided to not exchange gifts this year because we both knew what we wanted, but it just wasn't available to purchase at the time, but it is now! We are both getting a new FitBit Charge HR. We have the FitBit One and have used it for 2 years now, but now its time to upgrade and get a new FitBit! Especially since I have washed Andy's FitBit more times than I'd like to admit.

Merry Christmas Keeley and Smokey!

Christmas Eve 2014

Yes I am late on getting this done, but better done than not at all! :)

Christmas Eve started out interesting to say the least. We knew Luke would have to go to daycare that day, but since Andy still had 4 hours of vacation left to use (his work is use it or lose it) and I didn't feel like working the whole day, we worked a half day. We all got ready for work and pulled up to the daycare. Right when we were getting out of the car, the daycare lady came out to let us know that they were opening at 7am and not 6am like they always do. Cue frustration! In a quick decision, I decided that Luke was going to come to work with me for 4 hours. He didn't sleep that well the night before so I knew the car ride would knock him out for a good 3 hours. Plus some of my co-workers didn't get to meet him yet, so this was a perfect chance to meet him.

Luke did great while we were at work. He slept until 8:30am and then gave his million dollar smile to everyone for a good hour. I was able to rock him to sleep and he took a little nap until 10:30am. My boss happened to just come in so she got to play with him for a little bit and then we were off to pick up Andy at 11am at work.

A bottle and then a nap. I was impressed that I was able to feed him and get him back to sleep at work!

Soooo comfy in his carseat and his Nemo blankey

We then were off to Red Robin to have our Christmas lunch with our friends Nick and Laura who came in town from Wisconsin. I am soooo glad that we were able to find a little time to meet up with them. We miss them so terribly much and wish we lived closer to each other.

We then packed us up and headed over to my mom's for our Christmas celebration. I helped my mom out with cooking some of the dinner. We decided on ham, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, and salad. It all turned out great and tasty!

We then dove into the presents. Jackson and Claire were itching to open up those presents! It was so cute! I can't wait till Luke is old enough to understand Christmas also.

Luke received several fun jammies and outfits from Grandma in size 9 months. Thankfully we received these just in time because he fits perfect in 9 months right now. He also received a Baby Einstein Discovery Music Table. Luke loves music and light up toys, so this was right up his alley!

Special thanks to my mom for hosting such a special Christmas for us all!

Finally Friday!

ONE -

I am having a hard time finding clothes that fit me and that are comfortable on me. I don't know if it's from having a baby or if it's my taste now that I am getting older, but I am just having a hard time finding clothes that I like. I found these hoodies on Oldnavy.com and took a chance on them. I thought if I didn't like them, then I can return them. I also liked that they came in sizes of "Tall". Why it's important that they have tall sizes is because I absolutely hate winter clothes that shrink in the arms and stomach area! Why do manufactures do that!?!! After washing and wearing these hoodies, I am hooked! In fact, I even ordered all the colors possible. I have a grey stripped, a navy blue, a grey and a black one. Fine by me though! As long as I feel good about myself, I am OK with it!

TWO -

On Monday we took Luke to the doctor to check for ear infections. You can read about that here. When leaving the office I noticed some lotion samples and grabbed one for myself. I've tried it out on my hands and LOVE it! Now I need to try it on Luke's really dry skin he has on his legs. If it works, I am hooked!

THREE -

Oh buddy, I need to blog about these!!! But I wanted to mention just how excited I am to try out my doTerra oils! I at first saw people blogging and instagramming about them and thought, "Meh". Then for some reason I was intrigued and wanted to try them! I received my starter pack on Monday and have been diffusing like a crazy woman! I LOVE how potent these smells are!! I am not a fan of diffusing the peppermint as much, but look forward to trying it out with headaches and such! With us dealing with the sickies and such and I also pulled the trigger and ordered OnGuard! It should be here today and I can't wait to diffuse it. I am hoping it helps keep the sickies out of our house!

FOUR -

You may have seen this lovely photo of me on instagram about 2 weeks ago with me saying I did T25 for my first time ever. Well.....that was my first time and only time since I've done it. I feel so lazy! But seriously, life just doesn't slow down. OK, you're reading it here, I am starting this back up. You all can hold me accountable too!

FIVE -

Of course I cannot forget to share this ADORABLE video of my Mr. Luke for you all to see! He was feeling much better Thursday and I got this cute video of him laughing. Please ignore my goofy voice when taking to him. :)

Happy Friday!!

Sickies

Oh the sickies have invaded our house....I was doing so well at blogging too and then the sickies entered and I've been running around like a mad woman this week between work, being sick, and taking care of us all. It all started on Monday when I get a call from the daycare that Luke isn't eating and every time he takes a drink he pulls the bottle out of his mouth and turns his head. They were thinking ear infection. So Andy left work early to get little dude. I wasn't able to leave because it was a payroll day and I was in the middle of completing my work. Let's also not forget that on this Monday Andy took our "new to us" car to the dealership to get the repairs done; my Prius decided to sound like it was going to explode when started that morning, so it had to go to the dealership; and my stomach began to ache after lunch...I was ready to throw in the towel on Monday around 1 PM that day.

Andy picked up Luke and he thankfully took a good nap in his car seat. I was able to get him into the doctor at 4 PM. I get off at 3:30 PM but had to go to the Toyota dealership first to drop off the Prius. My mom thankfully met me there and took me to her house so that I could drive my brother's car. I then was able to make it to Luke's doctors appointment. I think Andy was so thankful that I made it. Luke was diagnosed with a double ear infection and given a prescription for amoxicillin. Am I the only person who loves the smell of that pink bubble gum stuff? My stomach began to get worse and worse and I knew that I was starting to get sick.
At the doctor's office

I was able to get home and then the flu like symptoms began. UGH! I never got a fever but I wasn't able to keep anything down, not even water. Andy said he would take care of little guy and I and I was like, "Great!" Until 2 AM when Andy got sick....DAMN IT!! Needless to say, we spent the day lounging. I don't know how, but I was able to bounce back pretty quick from my sickness. I was able to run to Target to get us some Gatorade so that we could get something in our systems. I also picked up some Pedialite for Luke in case he decided to stop drinking his formula.

Poor bubs!

He likes to lie on the couch himself. Mommy of course is right next to him.

Still getting smiles even though he doesn't feel good.
Also, note different jammies. He spit up too many times on the blue ones.

Toyota calls me and tells me they can't find anything wrong with me car....not shocking at all. I was able to go pick up my brother, drive him and I to the dealership to get my car and then drive home with my own car. I knew it was the only time to be able to do it.

Wednesday I was back to work, Luke was back at daycare (even though I could tell he didn't feel the best, I had to send him because I don't have much time at all to use and I need to save it for when he's really sick and can't be at daycare), and Andy was back to work (he worked at home, lucky duck!). Luke did OK at daycare. I did receive a call asking if they could give him some Tylenol at 10 AM, which I allowed and they said he wasn't eating; but I know that means he is only eating 1-2 ounces instead of his usual 5 ounces. I said he should be fine as long as he is taking something and isn't dehydrated. I think the daycare was being overly cautious, which I am grateful for, but I also think they really didn't want him there. Tough though, I'm paying for the daycare, he doesn't have a fever and I have to work. If I didn't have to work, I wouldn't. Trust me! I remind Andy all the time! :)
Took an evening cat nap. He didn't sleep well at daycare. I think he missed Mommy!

So that was my crappy past 2 days. I plan on telling you all about our "new to us" car once we get it back. We thought the repairs would be done on Tuesday and it's now Thursday and we still don't have our car. Thank goodness they give our loaner cars! P.S. TOYOTA YOU SUCK AT NOT GIVING LOANER CARS!
