Weekend Recap #7

Woohoo for my memory this Monday morning (even though this is being posted Tuesday)!!  If only my memory was working a bit better and I wouldn't have forgotten my keys to get into work this morning....OOPS!!

Friday -
Lazy night, but what else did you expect from me.  :)  We did manage to get the grass cut (it was well needed!) and then a little nap in by me before dinner.  I'll recap my dinner on Wednesday for What I Ate Wednesday!!  :)  So excited to FINALLY remember to be "one of those people" who take photos of their food....LOL.  The rest of the night was spent on the couch watching TV and taking Keeley on a walk.  (I'm a good puppy mommy!)

Saturday -
Went out with my Mama and sister.  We went to Target (who doesn't love Target!), lunch at Olive Garden (YUMMO!) and grocery shopping at Dierbergs for my Mom's Birthday Dinner we were having the next night (Sunday).  We all came back to my house where we made the potato salad for Sunday (cold potato salad is sooooo good)

That night me and Andy went out with our neighbors Joe and Emily to the St Louis Brewers Heritage Festival.  There was a chance for thunderstorms and boy did they hit.  It was interesting and in fact, some of the volunteers were telling us to run for our cars in the middle of the rain and lightening storm.  Uh yeah right, I'm not running in a torrential downpour with lightening to my car.  I have a better chance of getting struck by lightening than the tent collapsing.  I will say though, we really thought the tent was going to collapse because of the weight of the water on top of it.  We moved to the outer edge of the tent.  If god forbid that tent went down, we could get out pretty quick.  The rain stopped and the beer pouring commenced and then stopped again.  Let me tell you, if you stop serving unlimited amounts of beer to people before the time was up, you're going to get some REALLY angry people and boy were there VERY ANGRY people.  I don't blame them though.  The tickets said "rain or shine".  We were told that we could receive a partial refund on their website, but as of today, I still have yet to see anything.  In all the night was fun and very interesting.  People watching is quite fun if you ask me.  (Especially if you see your husband's ex-girlfriend there......)
Top photo:  a cute photo before we went out
Bottom right: The St Louis Brewers Heritage Festival sign
Bottom middle:  TONS of rain coming down
Bottom left:  The tent was bulging from all of the rain coming down, we couldn't believe it held all of the water and didn't pop!

Sunday -
Laundry was started that morning and completely finished by that afternoon!!  (all 4 loads of it)  It was even put away at a timely manner.  :)  The house got a fresh clean from vacuuming and bathrooms being cleaned.  The kitchen was nice and pretty too!  :)  That afternoon we headed over to my mom's house to celebrate her birthday.  It was a nice evening with good food and lots of fun.  After dinner we had a water balloon fight and swam a bit in their pool.

High Five for Friday #10

Good Friday Morning!!

I say that with a very happy, wide awake voice! (True Story!)

Last night, went up to bed around 8 PM.  The sun was setting when we were in bed....haha!  Watched some old school "Full House" on TV. Which episode you ask?  The one where Joey gets to open for Wayne Newton in Vegas.  Fell asleep around 830 PM and woke up refreshed at the very early 5 AM!  I even woke up on time and was ready to leave for work 15 minutes early.  In fact, I was so early getting ready that I loaded the random dishes in the sink into the dishwasher and started it, took the trash out, put the trash can out on the curb, and made coffee for both Andy and myself (along with making a bit of mess while making coffee.....I swear our Keurig machine is super quiet when it's running and I didn't realize it was still pouring coffee.  DUH!!)  That's not heard of in the morning, especially not on a Friday morning.

So let's get to it and celebrate our Five photos on Friday!

  1. Keeley was super cuddly with me on the couch and I thought it was just oh so adorable that her head was right by mine.  Had to get a photo of that!
  2. Smokey decided to come stretch out (literally, he is such a long cat) and lie next to his mama.  He can stretch out the entire length of my leg.  From my hip to my toes.  It's hilarious.
  3. Fireworks tents are going up!!!  This is the one right next to us, in the Target shopping plaza.  I can't believe that the 4th of July is only in 3 weeks and 5 days!!!
  4. QT iced tea to get me though an interview yesterday.  I mixed half sweet passion fruit iced tea with half un-sweet passion fruit iced tea.  Next time, I need to add more un-sweetened tea than the sweet tea.
  5. The jam this morning.  I am not normally a rap person, but this song totally takes me back to high school!  This song was a big deal back then since Nelly is from Saint Louis.  I have a rental car from the dealership while mine is getting fixed (stupid sun roof) and they have XM radio in the car.  I love the 90's station and the 2K station (pop music from the 2000's).

Couch Blob

Yep, that was me last night.  You can call me the couch blob!  :)  OK so I didn't sit on the couch the entire night, but most of the evening was spent there.  Andy was out of town for work and I was spending time at home with Keeley and Smokey.  The night before I spent time with my family so I felt it was important to be home last night and spend some time with the fur-babies.  I had read earlier in the day the threat for bad weather up north in the Chicago area and as bad as this sounds, all I thought was, "thankfully we are not in the threat right now".  But silly me didn't think about Andy being in Chicago...DUH!!  He actually was driving home from Chicago and got stuck in the storm.  There was no tornadic weather in his area, thankfully, but it was a scary site to see this radar image of approximately where he was:

I would like to report that Andy did make it home safe and sound late last night (around 11pm) and exhaustively got himself out of bed this morning at 5:45am to get ready to go into the office.  As crabby as he may be today, I am proud of him for providing for myself and our home.

I did manage to get Keeley out of the house for a walk around the neighborhood last night.  I was trying to wait for the sun to go down a little bit before we went out because it was just so gosh darn hot outside (heat index of 100 degrees yesterday) We went walking around 7pm and I swear it wasn't any cooler.  Just 5 minutes into our walk I was sweating and Keeley was panting.  We did manage to get the entire neighborhood in though, but a shower was A MUST before I even stepped foot into bed.

I remembered that last night was the finale of Real World Portland.  Why you ask am I still watching that trash?  Seriously, I am asking myself right now.  Last week they had left off with a To Be Continued because 2 of the cast members were fighting (physically).  I wanted to see if MTV would be smart and take the cast member off of the show.  She sucker punches, closed handed from behind on the back of the other cast mates head.

All fighting I think is not right, but when the fight is over and you both go your ways and then however many minutes or hours go by and that person just punches the other person for no reason, I think the person who threw the punch needs to go IMMEDIATELY!!  The stupid house holds a "vote" to see if this cast member should leave and most of the house says, NO.  Are you serious!?!!  Where were the producers to step in and make this cast member leave.  I know for a fact that in their clause that there is a no touching a housemate rule (they made other previous cast members leave for this very same reason).  It's really disgusting when you think about it because all those producers and MTV wanted was ratings (which unfortunately, they got from me....), they didn't care about those house mates well-
being.

END RANT...

Anyways, I also wanted several episodes of, "I'm Having Their Baby".
I'm Having Their Baby
It's a pretty touching show to witness these women who selflessly give up their baby for whatever unselfish reason.  If you ever get a chance to catch this show on the Oxygen network, I highly recommend it.

Today, my car goes back into the dealership to fix the sunroof once again.....it's really getting old taking the car into the dealership a 4th time since we got it last year on July 2nd.....Let's hope it actually gets fixed this time and NO more issues with this car, PLEASE NO MORE ISSUES!!!

OK, I think that is it for today.  2 posts out for the day and lots of ranting on this one.

What I'm Loving #6

Here's what I'm loving on this June 12th, 2013!

I'm loving that the summer weather has finally hit Saint Louis!!

I'm loving my digital camera that I received on my birthday.  I took so many great photo's at my brother Jack's high school graduation ceremony. You can read about my digital camera here.  Yes, yes I still need to post those photos for you all to see.

I'm loving that I still use my "Bride" tervis tumbler for coffee.  Even better, Andy uses is too!

I'm loving pedicures!  Although, I am super ticklish and hate it when they run the pumice stone up your foot.  YUCK!!!

I'm loving these summer 2013 Essie nail colors!
essie Summer 2013 closer

I'm loving that my parent's and Andy's parents pools are open!  I even relaxed my feet in my mom's pool last night while reading my Kindle.

I'm loving the nice evening's we have had here lately.  It makes taking Keeley on a walk around the neighborhood not so hot!  :)

I'm loving that Keeley and Smokey are best buddies!!

I'm loving that Smokey loves to sit in my lap on the couch.  He just makes himself comfy!

And of course, I'm loving my Andy!

Weekend Recap #6

I had every intention on recapping my weekend for you all, and sat here for about 5 minutes and could not figure out what I did last weekend.....sad, but true.  So, I thought I would do a photo dump from the weekend for you all to see just what my weekend was all about.

Whenever I say to Keeley, "Want to go on a walk".  I get these ears and that face.  She LOOOOOOVVVVEEEESSSSS to walk!

Friday steps, I wasn't even trying and hit over 10,000 steps.

We washed the cars and took them up to the gas station to vacuum out.  I decided that I wanted a slushie.  YUM!!  Cherry slushie to be exact.

Smokey is cuddled up in Andys legs and Keeley is hanging out next to him.

Keeley was done "sharing" Andy

A close up on Smokey cuddling.

"Hey Mom, I like donuts"

"Hey Mom, I like donuts too!"

Yes you see this right, I have an audience by both the dog AND the cat!

Keeley and I on Sunday, ignore my frizzy hair.

Keeley decided to make herself comfortable on Jena's lap Sunday night.

He is seriously eating those fabric corners.  I had to take them away from him
