Happy Friday - Birthday Edition!

This morning when my alarm went off, I was so happy to remember that it was Friday!  Not that I had a bad week, just excited to get some sleep this weekend.  This pregnancy is still kicking me in the butt!

{ONE}

Baby K is a HE!  We found out on March 11th and we are thrilled!  I'll be honest, I SWORE that Baby K was a she.  I would have even bet money on it, and I am not a betting money kind of girl. To hear that Baby K is a Boy was a shock at first and then I started to get all these new ideas in my head for the nursery!  I even went out with my mama last Saturday to do a little BOY shopping at Babies R Us!  My mom got Baby K, 2 new outfits.

The turkey butt is SOOOO cute!  The front of it says, "My First Thanksgiving".  We also loved the whale outfit, with the cute little whale feet.  :)  I also picked up 4 pairs of pants at Target for Baby K ($2.50 a piece!) in sizes 3 and 6 months.

{TWO}

Wednesday marked my 30th Birthday!  My work surprised me with a HUGE cookie cake and a cute Birthday balloon!  It brought me a smile to my face that morning while I walked into my office half asleep.

{THREE}

For lunch on my Birthday, I met up with my best friend Ali and her two adorable sons Sam and Max.  We ate at Lion's Choice (where else would I want to eat at?!?!!  LOL)  She had these BEAUTIFUL flowers and the adorable baby items for me!  Andy LOVED the onesie and the bip is just TOO cute!!  I can't wait for Baby K to be here!!!

{FOUR}

My mom is seriously, the BEST!!  We had her stop by our house to let Keeley out after work and feed the hangry animals.  She surprised me with this BEAUTIFUL tulip arrangement!  I also had to screen shot that text between me and her cause I love her so!  I don't know where I would be without that woman!  Can we also talk about how cute that vase is?!?!!  It a big pink mason jar!  LOVE IT!!!  That arrangement is very me.  :)

{FIVE}

Can we talk about how AMAZING my husband is?!?!!  Seriously, he pulled a HUGE surprise to me by getting me this DSLR camera.  The card has a real whoppie cushion in it and yes we tried it out to see if it really worked.  So funny!  Then in the bag was my camera.  I was talking about how I REALLY wanted my own DSLR camera (even though I have no idea how to use one yet) and he kept telling me that they are too expensive.  I of course knew they were too and was still happy with my other digital camera so thought nothing of him actually getting me a DSLR!  This thing is SO light weight and takes some awesome photos!  I can't wait to get some time this weekend to play with it and really get to know the ins and outs of the camera! Thanks to youtube, I should be able to get to know this camera really well before Baby K arrives.  :)

{SIX} (bonus photos!)

I chose for my Birthday dinner to be at the Cheesecake factory.  Since I do not have a big appetite, I chose a small cesear salad and the appetizer of Fried Mac n Cheese!  We did get some vanilla bean cheesecake to eat at home and you know what, its still sitting in the fridge....that might have to be devoured tonight.

The BIG 3-0!

As of this morning, at 6:42 AM to be exact, I officially said goodbye to my 20's and said hello to my 30's!  Say what?!?!!!!  Seriously, to actually now say that I am 30 years old is really weird.

I woke up this morning and got ready for work like I always do.  Dry heaved a good 6 times in the kitchen this morning, even though I ate a little something (dry cereal) while getting ready in the bathroom.  (Just keeping it real people) Tears started to flow after getting sick once again.  I am sooooooo tired of getting sick.  15 weeks starts tomorrow and I am so hoping this morning sickness goes away soon!  I'm even thinking about going to get those sea sickness bands, has anyone tried those out before?

I walked into my office this morning to a huge surprise.  A giant, "Happy Birthday" Balloon, a HUGE cookie cake and a card signed by everyone in the office.  Not going to lie, it put a smile on my face to see all that on my desk.  Now all I want to do is face plant that cookie cake right now....lol!  But I will wait until everyone get's in.  :)

Plans tonight, dinner at Cheesecake Factory.  Special thanks to my mom for stopping by my house after work and letting Keeley out and feeding both of them.  It helps that she does that so we dont have to drive all the way home and then back out in traffic again.  :)

First selfie of my 30's!  LOL

Bad yogurt

In an effort to keep up with my healthy habits, I decided to just eat a yogurt for breakfast.  I noticed that the lid was slightly puffy of my Chobani Flip Peach Pistachio but I thought no big deal, it hasn't expired yet, in fact the expiration date is no where near what today's date is {I know better}.  I sat down and began to eat my yogurt.  First bite in, it tasted fizzy {seriously, I know better now...} but thought to myself, no biggie, you don't want to waste your money.  I ate the entire yogurt {so stupid}.  While perusing msn.com I found a tiny link saying "Chobani Yogurt Recall".  My heart sank and my stomach began to hurt.  I clicked on the link and read.

If you all haven't heard by now, Chobani has "voluntary" pulled some of their yogurt off store shelves because of customer complaints. Here is what Chobani.com website says:

Update as of 9/3/13 6PM:
Our thorough investigation has identified a type of mold commonly found in the dairy environment. The product in question is less than 5% of our production and is limited to products produced at our Idaho facility, which accounts for only one third of our production capacity.
Update as of 8/31/13 at 12PM:
Here at Chobani, nothing is more important to us than the quality of our products and the safety and satisfaction of our customers. Recently, we heard quality concerns surrounding certain products, which were experiencing swelling or bloating.
We’ve been diligently working with our retail partners and have voluntarily and proactively removed and replaced the majority of potentially affected products with the code 16-012, expiration dates 9/11/2013 – 10/7/ 2013 to ensure our fans are met with only the best experience when enjoying our products.
In order to deliver upon our very rigid quality standards, we ask that if you’ve purchased products with these code dates to contact our Customer Loyalty Team directly at http://chobani.com/care so we can coordinate replacements. Please know that we apply the same standards of excellence to our customer service as we do to our products and can assure you great care within 24 hours or less.
We’re committed to crafting only the best-tasting, highest-quality yogurt made with only natural ingredients, which means all of our products are free of preservatives. As we continue along our journey to provide better options to people everywhere, we thank you for your continued support. Without you, Chobani simply wouldn’t be possible.
I did email chobani and let me know that I had several yogurt cups with that code on it {I had several more of these at home and several at work}.  I am waiting to hear a response, but I know it will take a bit after seeing all of the angry customer comments.  I looked up Chobani on facebook and became horrified at the amount of complaints and comments towards Chobani.  After reading everything, I became more worried about the yogurt I had just consumed.  The part that disturbs me the more, that this tiny comment from Chobani was issued on 8/31/13, 5 days later it becomes more public knowledge!
Well knowing me, I went to Target yesterday after work {no surprise there}.  I was picking up several items and stopped by the yogurt to see if any Chobani remained on the shelves, and what do I find, more of those Chobani yogurts that were recalled.  What!?!!  I thought Chobani contacted all of the stores they sold to, to pull those yogurts with the code.  So I let the cashier know to tell his manager to pull those yogurts!  Ridiculous!
Ok let's move on, last night we also decided to "celebrate" Keeley's "birthday"!  LOL.  I picked up some Frosty Paws and a new toy for Keeley {so spoiled, I know}!  I even took her on a long walk around the neighborhood, but that is nothing special, it's something we do every night.  And what kind of blogger would I be, not getting photos.   HAHA!

Happy Birthday Husband!

Today we celebrate the 29th Birthday of my hubby!
He is an incredible man whom I love with all my heart!
Without him, the last couple of months would have been unbearable.

I left 2 birthday cards for Andy on his desk this morning {lucky duck, he get's to work from home today!}.  One card was from me, the other from the fur-babies.  :)  Here's hoping Smokey and Keeley are treating him well on his birthday.  Tonight's plans, dinner is his choice and dessert {which I plan on picking up on my way home tonight after work}.  I did not get him a present because he asked that I save the money for a present towards the purchase of the projector that will go in our basement when it is finished.  That reminds me, I really need to take some photo's the basement for you all to see the progress.  Andy and his Dad have done an amazing job so far!!

Happy, Happy Birthday Andrew!!
May all your dreams come true!
Happy, Happy Birthday from all of us {me, Smokey and Keeley}
To YOUUUU!!
{yep, he is totally going to laugh at me around 9 PM when he reads this...}

Today - My 29th Birthday

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yes, yes it is true.  Today is my 29th Birthday and I am super excited!  I love my birthday, even today as I turn 29.  Getting old doesn't scare me and see that in 1 year I will be the big 30!  Funny part is, I don't feel 29.  In fact I have never felt my age.  I remember when we signed the contract for our house and I said to Andy, "I don't feel old enough to purchase a house".  And yet, we did purchase our first home together.   :)

Here's the list of real life friends I share a birthday with:

New Toy!

Happy Early Birthday to Me!!

My birthday isn't until March 19th, but we purchased my birthday present a bit early {in February} this year.  I LOVE to take photos, but I do not have the best camera to do so.  I have a not so good Kodak point and shoot and always disliked the quality of photos that came from it.  Plus it was a touch screen and never really worked right.  I really wanted a nice camera so that I could capture moments and have really good quality photos that came from it.  Sooooo we began our investigation into cameras, well Andy did...haha.  He asked his co-worker who works for his company but in Canada (Canada eh?) and he gave him lots of advise and information into camera's.  We were thinking that me going to a DSLR camera would be too much to start out, so a point and shoot (but of good quality) would be best.

Panasonic GF5X 12.1MP Compact System Camera with Power Zoom Lens Kit

Well of course my first subjects to photograph we're the fur-babies!!  Did you expect anything different?  Haha!

Special thanks to my husband for a GREAT birthday present.  I plan to spend lots of time taking photos and playing around with the new camera.  :)
