Seriously, I think every weekend should be 3 days long! It is so relaxing and nice to just get stuff done around the house, but also enjoy some time out and about. My weekend was fantastic!
Friday - our night was spent at home just enjoying our time together. We both had large lunches at work that day so dinner wasn't until later and Jimmy John's was calling our name. #4 - Tom's Turkey with cheese, no cucumber for me! :) Andy wanted to play a game on his computer so I spent the night watching this movie:
It was OK, not the greatest, but a good time waster for the evening when we don't have anything to do.
Saturday - That morning I attempted to bake some homemade blueberry muffins. They were not my favorite. Not enough sweetness for my taste. So my dad was the winner of the muffins. We planned to spend the afternoon/evening with my family. We spent a couple hours in the pool {the high that day reached around 100 degrees}. After swimming we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and came back to my parents house for cake, ice cream cake to be exact. A Dairy Queen - Cookie Dough Blizzard Cake! YUM!!
Sunday - Target and lunch with the mama and sister. Did you know that Bandana's BBQ is offering $5 lunch deals?!? We found out that day that they are. Pick your meat, 2 sides and you get a piece of garlic bread, all for $5. Delicious and cheap, I'm there! That afternoon Andy and I went to a meat market {my first time} and we picked up 2 bacon cheddar burgers, a package of pretzel buns and a big beef roast for Monday's dinner. The burger's weren't my favorite, but Andy enjoyed them! I decided on making some brownies for dessert. Before dinner, I started my attempt 30 Day Shred. Holy COW! I am going to recap this for you all in a separate post. We attempted to watch the movie, Mud. Not so good, VERY slow and we stopped watching it 45 minutes in.... I ended up catching up on my Sunday evening TV shows, Sister Wives and Keeping up with the Kardashian's.
Sunday's dinner
Monday - So refreshing to wake up on a weekday and not have to go into work! :) We spent time around the house, cleaning, starting dinner in the crockpot and just watching TV. I made French Toast muffins for breakfast, which came out fantastic! After several loads of laundry Andy was itching to get out of the house and just walk around somewhere. We settled on the new outlet mall that just went in. I thought it wouldn't be too bad since I drove by it Sunday and it didn't look like a mad house. Boy, was I wrong! It was a nightmare to get into, a cop was posted outside of the mall directing traffic and the security set up cones so you couldn't go certain ways into the mall {which was causing some problems with traffic}. We did end up finding a spot in the way back, but you know, you go to an outlet mall to walk so parking far away isn't so bad. The mall was pretty neat, just would have liked to enjoy it without a massive amount of people around and the stores were pretty picked over. I felt bad for the employees who had to fold the same pile of clothes over and over again! Dinner we had french dip sandwiches that I made in the crock pot! They came out sooooo good! Did you know that Jimmy John's sells their day old bread for $0.50 a piece! Yeah, I didn't. I picked up 2 loaves and she said my total was $1.08. My response, "Are you serious?" I highly, highly suggest picking up a day old loaf for a meal. The bread tasted so good with the french dip! We decided on watching the movie "Olympus Has Fallen" to watch that night. Pretty good movie, but very graphic details. Duh, what else did I expect, but other than that, I recommend it. I am just a big baby when it comes to seeing multiple people shot in the head and blood splattering on the wall..... :)
In all, an excellent weekend in my books! Now onto enjoying September! I am looking forward to cooler weather, pumpkins and fall decorations, and spending time with those whom I love!
