Today I am linking up with Mal Smiles and Life Oceanside for the Tuesday edition of:
Last week, I had every intention on starting back up at the gym with my regular workouts, but I was still sore from surgery and needed to rest a bit more. I decided on Sunday that I had NO more excuses and to the gym I go on Monday after work. I ate like crap and drank soda all weekend long and needed to get my life back on track.
Yesterday, I got home from work, changed and we both left for the gym. I start on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I even ran for 5 minutes straight, OK so maybe it was just a jog, however, 5 minutes straight is a HUGE thing for this girl!!! I then went over the the weight machines and worked on some ab crunches. 50 crunches on the left, right and front of my stomach (I know nothing about exercise, so please forgive me if I am correct on my fitness terms...)
After the gym I made some dinner and started to watch some TV. Of course this cute face some up to mine and I get the sad puppy dog eyes:
So off we went on our daily 30 minute walk around the neighborhood. {Begin rant} I know I am going to sound like a crab, but I really don't like it when the kids in the neighborhood ask, "Can I pet your dog". I mean yes, at least they ask, however; my dog is very leery around people she doesn't know and kids don't know that she is very shy. So I always have to break their little hearts and say, "Not tonight, sorry". I just want to walk my dog in peace and not be bothered.....ugh. {End rant}
I've also been back to calorie counting on myfitnesspal. It's a great way to keep track of what I am eating and to moderate how much of something I can eat. Sometimes I get off track of what I am eating and before I know it, I have overstuffed myself and really didn't need that extra snack or that ice cream after dinner.
I plan on going to the gym tonight, Wednesday night and Thursday morning before the funeral and going out of town and then taking a break from working out until next Monday. I know that I could find a way to working out while out of town, but think it might be just too much with all the family around. I may pack some workout clothes in my bad just in case.
I am proud of myself for getting up and curing my #NOtivation. You have to start somewhere! :)
