Five for 5 #15

Welcome Home, Saint Louis Cardinals
Happy Opening Day!!

It's time to link up for my 5 for Five!
Thanks to Jenn and Jessica for this fabulous link up as always!!

Here's how I did last week at my goals:
{Aqua=goal reached, Pink=goal not reached}

April 1-5
  1. Work out 3 times this week
  2. Eat dinner at home 5 nights this week
  3. Finish laundry from the weekend
  4. Vacuum the upstairs (just didn't get to it over the weekend with company over)
  5. Clean and organize the pantry
  • What a week!!
  • Working out was a success!  I am so proud of myself.  Tuesday and Thursday were spent at the gym.  Wednesday was a long and cold walk with Keeley.  Thursday I also took the time to walk a mile on my lunch.  Go me!
  • Eating dinner at home 5 nights this week just didn't happen....bad Jessica.  On Thursday I had no desire to make dinner, so Penn Station made it for us.  Haha.  I had a 10" tuna no pickle.  I felt guilty with my large choice of sandwich and then my neighbor wanted to go workout so I went with her.  I'll just pat myself on the back now...HAHA!
  • Vacuuming is complete and we have a very clean house!  :)
  • Oh the pantry, I just didn't get to it.  It is on my list of to do eventually but to be honest my pantry isn't that bad.  It was just a goal to do just because.

Onto the goals for:

April 8-12th

  1. Workout 3 times this week
  2. Eat dinner at home 4 nights this week
  3. Sew some more on my cross stitch (I feel so old saying that....LOL)
  4. Put the construction notice piece of paper up on my front door (To be done ASAP!)
  5. Finish the laundry and do a "clean" on my washing machine.  (I'll post about this one day)

Easter 2013

Easter 2013 was a success!

My weekend started off on Saturday morning with lots of shopping for the Easter dinner; I was hosting for my entire family at my house.  My mom, sister and I headed out at 10 am to start our long day of shopping and cooking.  We first went out to the Honey Baked Ham store to pick up our ham's.  Can I give you all a warning out there.  Don't believe the people at the Honey Baked Ham store about "how many people per ham".  I bought a 5 pound boneless ham and my mom purchased a 4 pound boneless ham.  We were clueless about how much each one fed.  We told them we had 18 people coming over and were told, "Oh yeah, these 2 ham's will be a perfect amount for you all!"  We were expecting leftovers, but man not that many leftovers......

We stopped at Steak n Shake for lunch.  It was delicious as always but I always feel like crap after eating there.  I wish it wasn't as greasy at it is.

Here is a photo of my sister and I waiting for our food.

The next store we went to was Target for my mom to get some Easter goodies for Jackson and Claire.  I was surprised that Target wasn't as busy.  I was expecting a hoard of people in there. The Easter aisle was pretty picked over, but they still had some choices for Easter baskets.  We ended up making our own baskets for them, which we prefer.  :)

After Target was the Grocery store, Dierbergs.  My favorite one here in Saint Louis.  It may cost more than the other stores, but I really prefer their produce and meat selection over anyone else's.  Plus, they have an organic aisle and that's where I can pick my Chia seeds up at.  I did find though that they are always sold out on the weekends of the Chia seeds so if you need some, get them during the week.  Next time, I will pick some up on Amazon.  Amazon Prime is AMAZING if you ask me.  :)

When I came home, I decided to start pre-making/making what I could of the food for tomorrow.  I made the bunny cake (Jena requested), cookie-cheesecake bars (Andy requested), and the green bean casserole. After shopping and cooking all day, I finally sat down at 7 pm and was exhausted.

The next morning I was at it with cleaning and cooking.  I finished icing the bunny cake, made the strawberry pretzel dessert, made mashed potatoes and my favorite mac n cheese. I even took the time to take Keeley on a walk around the neighborhood since it turned out to be such a nice day.  The temperature got up to around 70 degrees!

Everyone came over around 3pm and we ate around 4pm.  In all, I think the food turned out great!  I was very pleased with how it all turned out.  Stupid me forgot to take a photo of the whole food spread.....

Here is a list of what we had to eat:
Ham
Turkey Breast
Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Cheesy Potatoes
Mac n Cheese
Salad
Veggie tray
Cheese and crackers tray
Rolls

Desserts:
Bunny Cake
(homemade white and chocolate cake with butter-cream icing)

Cookie Cheesecake Bars

Strawberry Pretzel Dessert

Embrace the Camera

Easter 2013

I had the perfect opportunity to use my new camera I received from my birthday and wanted to capture some new photos from Easter.  Of course, I had to get a new photo of Andy and I together!  I love documenting our lives together and anytime that I can get a photo of the 2 of us together, its a GREAT day for me!  :)

Today, I have decided to Embrace the Camera.
I thought it was a really cute idea and thought I would join in. :)

Won't you embrace the camera and join in??

Love and Marriage - Part 1

I'm switching things up tonight and linking up with these pretty ladies!
You can follow JennaShayJennLindsay, and Megan.

How we met -

Andy and I met while working together at Best Buy back in 2006.  He worked in the Geek Squad and I was a Senior in Operations (a step down from a Supervisor of the cashiers and customer service).  Andy would drive me nuts at work.  I always had a crush on him, but I never got the nerve to ask him out.  Plus, he was a smart aleck then.  Well he still is, but back then, I swear it was so much worse!

I quit working at Best Buy in September of 2006 and we went our separate ways, little did I know our paths would cross again several years later.  Facebook became big several years ago, as you all know.  I found Andy one night on Facebook and I friended him.  We exchanged comments one night when we was driving home from Michigan the summer of 2009.  I remember saying something like "Welcome to Missery (Missouri)".  It's a common Missouri joke.

One night, in August we chatted on Facebook messenger.  We spent about an hour chatting and our conversation ended with exchanging cell phone numbers.  I was so excited to have someone new to talk to.  We began to text each other, A LOT!  I went to the lake (Lake of the Ozarks) with my brother and his family the weekend of August 21st.  Andy saved me because I dropped my iPhone 2 (yes you read that right, the original iPhone) and he had a temporary phone to hold me over that weekend. That Sunday night (the 22nd) we decided to meet up and do something.  The Hangover was out in theaters and I told him I really wanted to go see it.  So, it was decided, dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and a movie.  He paid for both, what a gentleman!  When we were driving back home, he told me that his birthday was that Saturday, the 29th.  I asked if he had any plans and he said no.  I was shocked and told him that we are going out to celebrate!  I had gotten several of my friends together and he got some of his friends together and we went to Fast Eddie's that night.  It's a really cool bar in Illinois with really cheap food.  Some photos were taken that night that I will cherish forever.  They are crappy photos, but really have some great memories. (I cannot find them at this time, but when I find them, I will post one for you all)  I remember my cousin Julie drove me home (I had too many to drink, which I so rare for me) and we stopped at White Castles.  I kept telling Julie how much I liked him and kept questioning if he liked me too.

From that day on out, we talked everyday by text message.  Andy tried to "break up" with me (we really weren't a couple), but I wasn't having it.  I always knew that we would be together.  When they say you know, you just know.  I would agree with that statement.  The longest we have ever gone without talking to one another since 2009 was 5 days during our "break up" period.  I was the one to call him first, and for some reason he decided to keep me in his life.  I would say it's a good choice.  :)

Check back next week to hear about our life together in 2010!
