Weekend Recap #5

Is it sad that every time I do one of these, I sit here and think, "OK, what did I do Friday night?!?".  So very true!

Friday -
Andy got to work from home Thursday and Friday so by the time I came home from work and running errands (I surprised him with a 4 pack of his favorite beer) he was ready to get out of the house and walk around.  Target was our destination because we had a prescription waiting on me and one to take in for him.  We spent a good amount of time in there and picked up some non-essential food items.  You know the good stuff like: vanilla bean ice cream, chocolate magic shell and root beer float magic shell  (still need to try that stuff, sounds sooo good).  Later that evening we took Keeley outside to play for a little bit and get some energy out (well needed and super glad we did).  We looked out into the distance and saw a monster storm headed our way.  We went back inside and I turned on the news.  Of course it's splashed with storm coverage.  We knew the storm was to hit around 7:30 pm and boy did it!  It was the scariest storm I had ever been through!  I saw the really low black cloud go over our house and started to freak out.  We never go to the basement when we head the sirens (yes I know....) but that night, we did and I am so glad we did!  Found out my brother was driving home and got caught in the storm.  He said he just pulled over and hoped that the Tahoe wouldn't get pulled into the storm.  Thankfully he is OK.  The tornado was so close to my brother's house and thankfully he did not have any storm damage either.
Too close to comfort.  This is a photo I took from someone on Facebook who was out in the storms and saw this just miles away from my house.  GO AWAY TORNADOES!!

Saturday -
I had plans with Ali to head over to the St Louis Mills Mall to shop for somethings.  The Mills Mall isn't the closest to our houses, but it's nice to take a trip out there every once in awhile. We were almost there and just as we are to cross the Missouri River we are stopped by the police.  They had shut the bridge down because a barge crane from up the river had gotten loose at the other bridge and had traveled down and hit the bridge we were coming across.  Actually the crane hit the "train bridge" which is right next to the "car bridge" and they decided to close the bridge totally in both directions.  So we turned around and went to another mall instead.  I wasn't able to find what I wanted, but it was nice to get out of the house with a good friend!  :)  I came home, did some cleaning of the house and we went out to dinner with Andy's parents to Fast Eddies in Alton, Illinois.  YUM!!  Silly me didn't get any photos that night, but it was a good time.  If you are ever in Alton, IL I HIGHLY suggest Fast Eddies!  It's a road house/bar with really cheap food at amazing prices!

Sunday -
That morning I actually relaxed, jammies and watching TV on the couch until noon.  Very relaxing and loved every minute of it.  I wished Andy could have joined me in the comfy-ness, but he and his dad were putting the finishing touches on the basement.  Andy has one more thing to finish before we can call for the 1st inspection before drywall.  I am going to try and get some photos for you all this week and post a little bit about it.  I went out and got a pedicure with Andy's mom Lynn and his sister Kelly.  Of course I picked out a pink color.  I was itching to go with a neon pink color, but stuck with a "cherry pink" color.  Next time, I think it's going to be neon pink for me.  :)  It will be July after all.   While enjoying my couch time, I saw a commercial that Taco Bell had brought back the Beefy Crunch Burrito......that's a big deal in our household.  Andy is OBSESSED with this burrito.  So for dinner, we went to Taco Bell.  I'll even admit that I love the burrito too!!  Haha!!  I did document that for you all.  :)  In fact, while typing this out, it sounds so good right now....LOL!  After dinner we headed over to my mom's and went out to get some ice cream from Dairy Queen.  (Man, I am a typing advertisement over here today!  You're welcome Taco Bell and Dairy Queen.)  I saw a commercial for a S'Mores Blizzard.  YUM!!!  I got the really small blizzard and it was pretty good but really sweet.  So if you are not a fan of super sweet things, I don't think this is your cup of ice cream.

Taco Bell Beefy Crunch Burrito!!!

So that concludes my weekend.  I can't believe it is Tuesday already.  Before I know it, it will be the weekend all over again and you know what, I am A-OK with that!  :)
